Where Every Bark Tells a Story of Community

Friends Of The Barrington Dog Park is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Your donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Parkside – The Kimberly F. Perrott Memorial Dog Park

A spacious off-leash dog park with plenty of room for running, play, and socializing. Future improvements aim to bring agility and obstacle features to Parkside, creating an exciting space for active dogs and their owners.

Coveside – The Christine Conrad Lane Memorial Dog Park

Surrounded by mature trees and natural shade, Coveside provides a relaxed woodland-style setting for dogs and their owners to enjoy throughout the year. Convenient parking directly outside the entrance makes the park easily accessible, while the spacious layout encourages both play and social connection within the community.

Honoring Christine Conrad Lane

Christine Conrad Lane was a creative, compassionate member of the Barrington community whose love for animals and helping others left a lasting impact on those around her. She devoted countless hours to supporting rescue dogs and creating loving connections within the community.

Her kindness, creativity, and passion for animals continue to inspire the spirit of friendship and belonging that makes the Barrington Dog Park so special. We are proud to honor her memory and legacy here at the park.

Park Status & Upcoming Upgrades

The Barrington Dog Park currently includes two shared spaces: Parkside and Coveside. While Parkside undergoes renovations alongside the surrounding athletic fields, Coveside was created to keep the dog park community active and connected. Since then, the State has approved Coveside as a permanent dog park location. With continued public support, both parks will continue growing into safe, welcoming spaces for all dogs and their owners.

Our Story

When Parkside temporarily closed during the athletic field renovations, Doug Lane and the Friends of Barrington Dog Park came together to create a temporary gathering space at Coveside. What began as a short-term solution quickly became a vital part of the community. In January 2026, the State approved Coveside as a permanent dog park location.

Current Priorities

With Parkside under renovation and Coveside now approved permanently, the next phase depends entirely on community support. The State does not fund fencing, waste stations, maintenance, or park improvements — all costs are covered through donations and volunteer efforts. Current priorities include permanent fencing, cleaner grounds, and safe, welcoming spaces at both parks.

Looking Ahead

Coveside is envisioned as more than just a dog park. Through the dedication of Christine Conrad Lane, future improvements may include landscaping projects, gathering areas, memorial features, and a commemorative walking path honoring Christine’s connection to the community and the lives impacted by the Washington aviation tragedy.
